Welcome
to Our Farm

Due to recent health issues, we have made the difficult decision to close our farm and re-home our beloved Nigerian Dwarf Goats.  There may be a day when we resume our breeding program, but for now we are taking a pause.  If you are looking for babies, feel free to message us for referrals to good farms in our area that we are very familiar with.   You may use the "Contact Us" page of this website.

We will keep our webiste active to provide you with the general breed information found on the "Goat Info" page of this website.  We will continue to offer Alpaca Fleece, Light Tractor Services and Free Alpaca Manure found on the "Other Services" page.

Thanks to everyone who helped support us during the past years, Steve and Kathleen.

About the Farm

Kathleen and Steve share their home with a variety of critters, and they are all part of our family.   The farm sits on four acres in the Briones / Alhambra Valley area of Martinez, California.  We have dogs, cats, chickens, alpacas and goats.  We raise and breed Nigerian Dwarf goats, striving to produce the healthiest animals for adoption.  We try to encourage unique, blue-eyed babies, but healthy goats with good conformation are our main goal.  All goat kids from Redwood Grove Farm are socialized and human-bonded through bottle feeding and interaction.

What We Do

We breed Nigerian Dwarf Goats for adoption, striving to obtain the unique blue eyes.  Nigerian Dwarf goats have gentle, lovable personalities.  This miniature dairy goat stays smaller than most breeds... about the size of a medium dog.  These goats make great pets, great "lawn mowers," and produce milk higher in butter fat and protein than other breeds.  Their smaller size makes them perfect hobby goats, and they can even be house trained and leash trained.

Goat Kids for Sale

We adopt out both registered and non-registered goats.  All of our goats are purebred Nigerian Dwarfs, however pricing is based on the registration status of our Dams.  All four Sires are registered with the American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA).  We provide socialization, disbudding (de-horning), vaccinations, and ADGA registration (if available) for our adopted kids.  We're happy to provide follow-up support information to our "New Parent" clients.

Who We Are

We are Steve Andrews and Kathleen Brennan-Andrews, DVM.  We have lived in Contra Costa County since 1969.

Steve retired in 2018 and now "works" full time on their small farm (when he's not fishing or playing music.)  His former livestock experience was raising and training wild Mustang horses.

Kathleen is a Veterinary Surgeon of 38 years.  She recently sold her practice to retire and have more time for her music and their animal family.

Steve and Kathleen share a love of animals, music, mountain biking, boating, outdoor adventure and travel.
