Redwood Grove Farm
Adoption List

Welcome
to Our Farm
Due to recent health issues, we have made the difficult decision to close our farm and re-home our beloved Nigerian Dwarf Goats. There may be a day when we resume our breeding program, but for now we are taking a pause. If you are looking for babies, feel free to message us for referrals to good farms in our area that we are very familiar with. You may use the "Contact Us" page of this website.
We will keep our webiste active to provide you with the general breed information found on the "Goat Info" page of this website. We will continue to offer Alpaca Fleece, Light Tractor Services and Free Alpaca Manure found on the "Other Services" page.
Thanks to everyone who helped support us during the past years, Steve and Kathleen.
Babies born at Redwood Grove Farm are listed below, in order of newest kidding to the oldest, with their availability and features shown.

DISBUDDING
We strongly encourage dis-budding the young kids to prevent their horns from growing. Goats with horns can injure others and are notorious for getting their heads stuck in fencing and feed racks. Our experience has been that dehorned goats are also less aggressive. This is performed at four-days old, unless your personal wish is to leave them with their horns. The scars heal over and are covered by hair.
NEUTERING
Bucklings can be neutered if you plan to have bucks and does living together. Doelings are not spayed. Neutered males are called Wethers, and they often make better, less-aggressive pets. Wethers also stay smaller and trimmer, and do not have the offensive odor of males in rut. Unless you plan to breed your buck(s), this procedure is done at 10-12 weeks (about the time they are weaned and ready to go to their new home.)

VACCINES
Clostridium Perfringens C & D - Tetanus Toxoid vaccines (C/D-T) are given in a single injection at
four-weeks old. We also provide a second dose of C/D-T at eight-weeks old.
(You will be responsible for annual C/D-T booster vaccines thereafter.)
INCLUDED IN FEE
SUPPLEMENTAL BOTTLE FEEDING
Mother goats normally provide enough milk for their babies until they are about 10-weeks old. During their second week, we begin bottle feeding our kids supplemental goat milk to enhance their bonding with people, and continue until they no longer have an interest in nursing. If you wish to take your babies home as early as 2-weeks, we can instruct you in the use of powdered goat milk (available at feed stores) to replace the mom's milk.
